Was visiting Maui for a few days and the last night went down to Big Beach in Makena. I’m having a love affair with this area and beach recently, it’s just a stunning place.
Generally, I've used a different type of look than this image with longer exposures and streaming water movement. I recently started working on freezing the incoming water with a faster shutter speed. This capture is exactly what I was looking for and more. I like how the foam is sweeping the beach like a loofah. The reflection of the foam lip also adds a nice touch of extra dimension. The sunset is complicated with lots of texture to it. That’s Kahoolawe to the left and the Molokini Crater in the center.
